LAHORE – After the apparent cancellation of Iqbal day holiday, the government has postponed the opening ceremony of a park named after Allama Iqbal.
According to the details, the government was all set to organize the opening ceremony of greater Iqbal Park on Iqbal day dated November 9.
However, the ceremony has now been postponed. Sources privy to the development opine that the decision was taken due to nonavailability of chief guest.
It is also believed that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif would inaugurate the park on November 21 now.
The greater Iqbal park adjacent to Minar-e-Pakistan has recently got a major facelift with the inclusion of dancing fountains and many other amusements but the decision to postpone the opening ceremony has irked the locals who were all set to enjoy the revamped park.
