Four TTP terrorists gunned down in Faisalabad encounter

FAISALABAD – The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) claimed on Saturday to have killed four suspected terrorists belonging to banned outfit, Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), in a late night encounter at Sargodha Road, Faisalabad.

According to police sources, on a tip-off about the entry of the terrorists into Faisalabad, security officials started snap checking of vehicles on Sargodha Road on Friday night.

Around seven armed men, riding on motorbikes, suddenly resorted to firing at police officials. During exchange of fire, four criminals were killed while the rest escaped taking advantage of darkness,” the sources added.

Later on, a search operation was initiated and heavy police forces deployed in the area. The CTD officials have said the terrorists belonged to TTP, who were planning a carry out a massive terrorist attack in the industrial city.

“Two Klashinkov guns, multiple pistols, three kilograms of explosives, detonators and two motorcycles were recovered from the terrorists,” a CTD spokesperson said.

Earlier this week, a Pakistan Army major embraced martyrdom during a clash with militants in Kulachi area of Dera Ismail Khan in Kyber-Pakhtunkhwa province.
