KARACHI – Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) leader Farooq Sattar has announced to challenge Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s victory for Karachi’s NA-245 constituency in the last General Elections.
Farooq Sattar told media that he will furnish witnesses along with factual evidence, hoping that the verdict will be announced in his favour.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Amir Liaquat Hussain won the elections by clinching 56615 votes, while Farooq Sattar stood second with 35,247 votes in General Elections 2018 for Karachi’s constituency.
Last week, Farooq Sattar had tendered resignation from membership of MQM-P’s Rabita Committee amid deepening rift within the party ranks, shaken up by founder Altaf Hussain’s speech in 2016.
Earlier, he had also said he was consulting with his close friends over an offer he had received from the PTI to join the party and contest the by-election on NA-247 from Dr Arif Alvi’s seat.
