Right when we thought with ‘Naya Pakistan’ we will get to see changes not only in our governance but also society throwing gender equality out of the window so much for 21st century? While women are fighting hard for their right around the globe including Pakistan people in KPK are facing ‘serious issuse’, male and female students sitting together.
KPK’s biggest university Khushal Khan university bans male and female students sitting together in central library. Students have been warned of strict action which will be taken against them if orders are not followed. University administration has taken this action after multiple complaints against students for making noise in library.
Administration believes segregation in the library for female students will prevail silence and discipline. Female students will be allocated separate space where male students will not be allowed to sit. There are other more gender friendly measures which could’ve been take such as appointing a strict librarian. It is alarming how universities are creating this gender inequality between young students who are the future of this country.
