Army praises police for timely response during attack on Chinese consulate

RAWALPINDI – The Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) praised the policeman who confronted the terrorists at the Chines consulate in Karachi.

The spokesperson took to Twitter and expressed that Pakistan Police Service has evolved through testing times.

In a brief message, the official observed that police displayed professionalism in recent times as their first responders is commendable.

Major General Asif Ghafoor continued that from preempting the terrorism attempts to foiling these at first checking point is a testimony of professionalism.

Salute to our police and its martyrs, said the ISPR head.

Earlier on Friday, two brave police officers laid down their lives while confronting the terror attack outside the Chinese consulate.

All staff of the consulate, comprising around 25 people, remained safe in the attack as Rangers and police foiled the terror bid successfully.

Three armed men, who were on a vehicle, hurled hand grenades in the area and it followed by firing, targeting the security officials deployed at the Chinese consulate.

The cross-firing between the assailants and the security official was continued for some time when heavy contingent comprising Rangers and police covered the area quickly responding to the situation.
