LAHORE – Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced subsidies for goods transport, similar to the support given to public transport.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), she wrote that due to rising international oil prices amid ongoing global crises and conflicts, pressure on fuel costs is inevitable.
To ease this burden, targeted monthly subsidies are being provided: Rs70,000 for registered goods transport vehicles, Rs80,000 for large vehicles, and Rs100,000 for public service buses.

She urged transporters across Pakistan, especially in Punjab, not to pass this additional cost onto passengers and consumers.
The government will closely monitor the situation and enforce regulations to ensure that the relief genuinely benefits the public. She emphasized that this is a time for responsibility, compassion, and solidarity.
