Martyred soldier Havaldar Abdul Rub laid to rest in DG Khan with full military honours

DERA GHAZI KHAN – Pakistan Army soldier, Havaldar Abdul Rub, who was among the two soldiers martyred in unprovoked firing by Indian forces along the Line of Control (LoC), was laid to rest in Taunsa Sharif with full military honours.

Two Pakistan Army soldiers, Havaldar Abdul Rub and Naik Khurram were martyred when Indian troops resorted to unprovoked firing at Nakiyal Sector along the LoC on Saturday.

The Indian forces targeted the civilian population in Nakiyal, Tattapani and Jandrot sectors along the LoC killing another two civilians.

Naik Khurram will be laid to rest later in the day.

A large number of army officials and the general public attended the funeral prayers of the martyred soldier and chanted full-throat slogans “Pak Fauj Zindabad” in support of Pakistan armed forces for sacrificing their lives for the motherland.

Tensions between Pakistan and India escalated across LoC after Indian jets dropped payload at a hilly forest area in Balakot. In reply to that,  Pakistan Air Force (PAF) on Wednesday shot down two Indian military aircraft in Pakistani airspace after repeated LoC violation. Pakistan also captured an Indian pilot Abhinandan alive who was released on Friday as a “peace gesture”.
