ISLAMABAD – Another case of nepotism in the Punjab government gets everyone’s attention as a nurse reportedly related to Punjab’s Senior Minister has been posted in country’s favourite hill station Murree for a period of two only months, which is not normal. The Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department has issued a notification confirming this arrangement.
According to Daily Pakistan Global, Shaista Tariq, a Grade 16 charge nurse and daughter of Muhammad Tariq, has been transferred from Holy Family Hospital Rawalpindi to THQ Hospital Murree for a period of two months. The notification, effective from June 29, also includes provisions for the Deputy District Health Officer (DDHO) Rawalpindi to provide pick-and-drop services to the nurse.
Shaista Tariq is believed to be a relative of Maryam Aurangzeb, which has led to significant public debate on social media platforms. Many are questioning the potential misuse of authority and the special privileges granted to her.
Despite the growing controversy, provincial officials have yet to comment on the matter or clarify the rationale behind this preferential treatment.
