PESHAWAR (Agencies) – The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government will move the court against the centre for ignoring the province in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), a top adviser of KPK Chief Minister said on Sunday.
Talking to the media in Balochistan capital city, Special assistant to CM on information Mushtaq Ghani said KPK Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser will file a case in Peshawar High Court on Monday.
“In spite of frequent meetings and contacts, the federal government has not fulfilled its promises made to the KP government.
“The federal government has failed to dispel the complaints of KP government,” he added.
Responding to the adviser’s announcement, Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal commented that the provincial government’s decision to move the court on CPEC issue will create problems for the province itself.
“Foreign investment is not attracted through cases in courts; however, if the KP government wants to get satisfaction by moving the court, it cannot be prevented from it,” Ahsan said in a media statement.
The minister said projects being executed under CPEC will benefit the less-developed and backward areas of the country. “No province is being deprived of its share in the project.”
The minister said construction work on the western route of the corridor is underway with full swing, and Gwadar-Quetta road will be completed before the stipulated time.
