Imran Khan announces to go court against protesting doctors of KP

PESHAWAR (Web Desk) – In a tit-for-tat move against protesting doctors of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan on Saturday announced to approach the court against them, two days after he got a contempt of court notice over a plea filed by Pakistan Medical Association.

“I don’t want to fight, I respect doctors,” he said during a visit to Peshawar, adding that majority of the doctors support health reforms introduced by the provincial government. “Doctors should be held accountable for wrongdoings and praised over good work as rule of law is not possible without the concept of punishment and reward,” Khan said.

He said students had a major part in building of Shaukat Khanum Cancer Hospital for which Rs800 million were still required.

Imran Khan said he had not spoken against the judges and didn’t commit contempt of court. The Peshawar High Court issued a contempt of court notice over Pakistan Medical Association’s (PMA) application which stated that Khan had described doctors as ‘mafia’ during a media talk.
