LAHORE – Almost a week before the start of much-anticipated World XI tour of Pakistan, online tickets for three T20s have been sold out.
The cricket loving Pakistanis who were eyeing the return of cricket to their homeland reserved their spots to see live action at the Gaddafi Stadium on September 12, 13 and 15.
The Pakistan Cricket Board tweeted earlier today that the online ticket purchase website ‘eTicketing’ was no longer entertaining any further online ticket reservations.

Those who have purchased online tickets can redeem their tickets from Eticketing Office situated at Lahore’s Raiwind Road today and tomorrow (September 7 and 8).

For those who could not grab online tickets, the PCB had designated 13 branches of the Bank of Punjab across the city, which started the sale of tickets from 1 pm onwards today.

According to Bank of Punjab sources, the bank’s head office has received 17,000 tickets to put on sale, which included Rs2,500, Rs4,000, Rs6,000 and Rs8,000 tickets.
The head office did not receive any Rs500 tickets for the General Stand category, all of which were sold out online, the sources said.
Pakistan, a cricket loving nation has not seen international team showcasing their skills in its grounds ever since a bus carrying the same Sri Lankan team came under drive-by ambush near Lahore’s Liberty Square in 2009, injuring seven players.
Since then, the only international team to visit Pakistan is Zimbabwe, who played five limited-overs games in Lahore in 2015. Pakistan plays their “home” internationals in the United Arab Emirates.
Though the demands rose to a crescendo regarding the revival of cricket in the country in few years but the successful Pakistan Super League final in Lahore gave a major boost to the perception of normalization of law and order situation in the country in March.
