Jehangir Tareen gets interim bail in PTV, Parliament attack cases

ISLAMABAD – An anti-terrorism court on Monday granted interim bail to former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf lawmaker Jehangir Tareen in Pakistan Television (PTV) and Parliament attack cases.

ATC judge Shahrukh Arjumand accepted Tareen’s bail application to against a surety bond of Rs 100,000.

The hearing was adjourned till April 16.

PTI chief Imran Khan is also on bail in the said cases.

Talking to media outside the court, Tareen denied meeting Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) leader and former interior minister Chaudhry Nisar.

Cases against PTI leaders, including chairman Imran Khan, were registered during its anti-government sit-in of 2014 for inflammatory speech, SSP’s torture and attacks on PTV and Parliament building.–Agencies
