LAHORE – Staff at a Multan jail landed in hot water after videos of a murder suspect from his jail went viral this week.
An inquiry report into the viral videos reveals that relatives of Babar Ali aka Murghi, who was detained at the Multan District Jail, made videos inside his cell and later shared on TikTok.
Taking notice of the viral videos, the jail staff searched the cells for any contraband, as owning electronic devices is banned for prisoners.
Punjab Minister for Prisons Fayyaz ul Hassan Chohan took notice of this violation, forming a committee to look into the matter and submit its report in 48 hours. He said strict action would be taken against and everyone involved and the jail staff for their incompetence.
