ASTANA – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Friday held a meeting with Afghan President Ashraf Ghani in Astana on side-lines of the Shangai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit.
Both high-ups discussed bilateral relations and different matters, including terrorism, in the meeting, which was not scheduled but held at the request of the Afghan president.
Meeting With UN Secretary General
Earlier, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif met with United National Secretary General António Guterres on the sidelines of Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit in Astana, Kazakhstan.
Kazakh and Uzbek Presidents
On Thursday, Nawaz Sharif met with President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev and Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
SCO Membership
The Prime Minister reached Astana on Thursday to attend the summit where Pakistan is set to get full membership of the organisation.
The SCO heads in 2015 decided to give Pakistan the status of a full member during a meeting at Ufa in Russia.
After the SCO membership, Pakistan will be capable of getting regional cooperation to end terrorism an extremism.
