DUBAI – Pakistan Cricket Board widened the scope regarding the alleged corruption in Pakistan Super League and investigated as many as 5 players, it has been learnt.
Soon after the provisional suspension of Sharjeel Khan and Khalid Latif, Muhammad Irfan of Islamabad United was also questioned. He was, however, allowed to remain a part of Islamabad United as PCB cleared him.
In addition, the cricketing body has also grilled Shahzeb Hassan and Zulfiqar Babar of Quetta Gladiators, along with Karachi Kings’ Shahzaib Hasan but now they too have been cleared by PCB and would continue being a part of their respective teams.
Pakistan Cricket Board has issued show cause notices to Sharjeel Khan and Khalid Latif and sought reply from the two players within seven days as well as cancelling their central contract.
Meanwhile, Chairman Pakistan Super League Najam Sethi took to Twitter to clarify that the PCB would take stern action to protect the tournament from the menace of corruption.

On the other hand, Chairman PCB Shahryar Khan, on his arrival in Karachi, confirmed that there was solid evidence against the players and the governing board was further collection information regarding this.
