2nd ODI: New Zealand Women beat Pakistan by 60 runs in rain-hit match

LINCOLN – New Zeland Women team beat Pakistan by sixty runs in the second One-Day International under the Duckworth-Lewis method at Lincoln here on Friday.

New Zealand Women won the toss and chose to bat and set a victory target of 310 runs for Pakistan.

The hosts scored 309/4 in their allotted 50 overs with Satterthwaite being the top scorer with 137 runs from 117 with 16 boundaries to her name.

Katey Martin made 65 runs from 72 balls with five fours to her name. Sophie Devine and Suzie Bates scored 34 and 32 runs respectively for the side.

Skipper Sana Mir, Maham Tariq and Sadia Yousuf took a wicket each.


Pakistan, chasing a revised target of 203 runs from 34.2 overs, could only score 142/4 in their given overs.

Nain Abidi was the top scorer for the Pakistani side as she made 45 runs from 56 deliveries with four boundaries to her name. Nahida Khan and Bismah Maroof scored 33 and 30 runs with the blade.

Suzie Bates grabbed two wickets for New Zealand while Hannah Rowe and Thamsyn Newton took a wicket each.

New Zealand lead the five-match ODI series 2-0. They also won the first ODI by eight wickets.

New Zealand lead the series two-nil.
