LAHORE – All-rounder Shoaib Malik secured the title of Pakistan’s leading scorer in Twenty20 Internationals, surpassing Umar Akmal.
On Wednesday, Malik made 39 off 23 deliveries by smashing three sixes and one boundary in the second T20I of the Independence Cup against the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) World XI at Lahore’s Gadaffi Stadium.

After playing the 82nd innings of this format, his total runs reached to 1702, beating Umar Akmal’s record of 1690 runs.
Shoaib Malik is at first position in Pakistan and at sixth place in world with respect to top scores in the shortest format of the game.
