Daily Pakistan is publishing this data on prime time TV ratings, obtained from Kantar Media, Pakistan’s only media rating agency, for the benefit of the public, which has, so far, lacked any independent means of verifying which channel and TV show is performing the best.
Ratings provided from 3rd to 9th June, 2016. Daily Pakistan will be providing similar TV channels ratings for every week from now onward, so stay tuned.
This week we bring you TV ratings during prime time hour for Friday and Saturday dated 3rd and 4th June.
Friday (prime time slot between 1900 hrs to 0000hrs)
Report Card and SareAam seem to be in close competition during this time slot with Express and Dunya having almost similar ratings at number 3.
Exposed at Dawn news has the highest proportionate rating rise. Geo with a significant hourly decline still holds the top with Naya Pakistan. Power Play and G for Gharidah are almost tied at 3rd place.
In the news hour viewership of Geo is the highest. Dunya and Express news are still tied at 3rd place. The ratings for Dawn news hour are significantly low.
Dunya news with Kamran Khan’s show leads the hour. ARY News and Geo are tied for second place with Shahid Masood’s show and Shahzaib Khanzada ke Saath, respectively. Dawn News’ Doosra Rukh stands in 4th place.
In the last prime time hour of Friday Express news with Khabardaar tops the ratings by a fair margin. Geo News is placed at number three with ARY News dropping to second last in this hour.
Saturday (prime time slot between 1900 hrs to 0000hrs)
Samaa’s Ramazan transmission tops the charts in this hour. Dunya with Rooh-e-Ramzan is in second place. Geo News drops in ratings significantly and is at 5th place in this hour while ARY and Express News having similar media ratings.
Samaa with its Ramazan transmission still tops the ratings on Saturday. Geo makes a recovery to 4th place while ARY leapfrogs Dunya News with Powerplay with its Moeed Pirzada show.
During news hour, Geo once again experiences a resurgence with ratings about three times greater than the previous hour. Samaa, ARY and Dunya ratings also plummet. Only Express emerges as competition for Geo during this time slot.
With the Shahzaib Khanzada show Geo maintains the top spot with almost double rating as compared to next in line Samaa. ARY with Shahid Masood’s show is at number three during this time slot.
As on Friday, the show Khabardaar on Express News tops the ratings for this hour. Samaa and ARY News’ shows are a close second and third. Dawn News’ Late Show with Ali Saleem has the highest rating slab for this hour.
Sunday (prime time slot between 1900 hrs and 2100 hrs)
