Sarfraz Ahmad becomes youngest Pakistani cricketer to bag Sitara-e-Imtiaz

KARACHI – Pakistan skipper Sarfraz Ahmad was honoured with Sitara-e-Imtiaz on Friday for his contribution to sports, becoming the youngest Pakistani cricketer to receive the country’s third highest civil award.

The 30-year-old captain, who made Pakistan win Champions Trophy title, was bestowed with the award by Sindh Governor Mohammad Zubair in Karachi on the eve of the Pakistan Day.

Former captain Younis Khan was also bestowed with the Sitara-e-Imtiaz earlier Friday. Misbah ul Haq and Shahid Afridi were also nominated for the prestigious award.

Earlier, Javed Miandad, Inzamam ul Haq, Mohammad Yousuf, and Saeed Ajmal had received the same award.

Sarfraz Ahmad also took to Twitter and thanked Allah for this achievement.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has also congratulated the skipper on becoming the youngest Pakistani cricketer to receive the Sitara-e-Imtiaz.
