PM Mulk expands interim federal cabinet after CJP Nisar highlights inefficiency
ISLAMABAD - Two more caretaker ministers were inducted into the cabinet of interim Prime Minister Nasirul Mulk on Wednesday.

The development comes as the Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar on Monday hearing a case regarding water crisis in Islamabad pointed out that the existing five-member cabinet cannot effectively run the country.

President Mamnoon Hussain administered the oath to Mian Misbah-ur-Rehman and former defense secretary Lieutenant General (retd) Khalid Naeem Lodhi, in a ceremony held at the Presidency.

Caretaker Prime Minister Justice (retd) Nasirul Mulk, members of the federal cabinet and other senior officials attended the ceremony.

On June 5, a six-member caretaker federal cabinet appointed by interim prime minister Justice (retd) Nasirul Mulk sworn-in.

The cabinet includes former governor of State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) Shamshad Akhtar, former Pakistan ambassador to the United Nations Abdullah Hussain Haroon, former senator Roshan Khursheed Bharucha, Mohammad Yousuf Shaikh, Mohammad Azam Khan, and Syed Ali Zafar.

On June 1, former Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice (retd) Mulk was sworn in as Pakistan’s seventh caretaker prime minister at the President House after second consecutive democratic completed its constitutional term on May 31.

Pakistani currency gains momentum against all currencies on April 16, 2024 Tuesday. US dollar was being quoted at 277.9 for buying and 280.85 for selling.

Euro was quoted at 295 for buying and 298 for selling while British Pound stands at 345 for buying, and 349 for selling.

UAE Dirham AED was at 75.4 and Saudi Riyal's new rates was at 73.30.
