Peshawar High Court judge critically wounded in gun attack

PESHAWAR: Peshawar High Court judge Justice Muhammad Ayub was shot and injured after some unidentified armed men attack his car on early Thursday morning.

According to the police, attackers on a motorcycle targeted Justice Ayub Khan’s car in Hayatabad’s Phase 5 and injured both him and his driver.

Justice Ayub Khan was travelling to the high court for his hearings. The car has reportedly received 10 to 12 bullet holes in it from all sides.

The injured judge and his driver have been shifted to a hospital, where he is listed in a critical condition, police said.

The attackers managed to flee from the scene after the attack.

Justice Mohammad Ayub Khan took the reins of the Peshawar High Court in 2017. Justice Ayub also served as judge of accountability court in Peshawar.
