ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shireen Mazari distanced herself from daughter Imaan Hazir Mazari’s anti-army remarks that went viral on the the Internet hours after a senior Pak Army official brokered a deal between Faizabad protesters and Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz led federal government.
In her scathing commentary uploaded on social media on Tuesday, Imaan unleashed a tirade of allegations against the armed forces saying that there was no difference between the terrorists and Pak Army, alleging that the establishment was behind the protesters who besieged the capital city for over three weeks.
Shireen Mazari’s daughter also took aim at the Rangers for distributing cash among the freed members of religious groups calling upon the masses to seek answers from the paramilitary troops for their dubious activities.

Her comments that were shared by social media buffs also irked her mother, Shireen Mazari, the central leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf who was quick to distance herself from the remarks.
Shireen Mazari took to Twitter and clarified that she loved her daughter, but she condemned the abusive words she had used.

In another tweet, the PTI leader stated that her daughter was an adult and so had her own viewpoint and she (Shireen) had the right to oppose her views.
She is an adult and has her own viewpoint and I have an equal right to oppose that viewpoint. We all must learn our own lessons in life. We cannot disown each other as we love each other but we can disown each other’s views. https://t.co/BDc0bVTmJ0

Meanwhile, the Twitter handle of Imaan Mazari was suspended, though its still not clear whether her remarks led to the suspicion or whether there was some other factor was behind the embargo.
Imaan also ignited a controversy back in 2015 when she claimed that she voted for Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz, an arch rival of the party which her mother serves.
“Just an FYI: I voted for minorities and PML-N,” Imaan said on her Twitter account.
However, at that time, Shireen defended her daughter’s choice and expressed that free choice was a pivotal element of democracy.
