Army called in for LB polls in Punjab, Sindh: ISPR

RAWALPINDI (Staff Report) – Civil administration has called in contingents of Pakistan army to maintain law and order situation during local bodies elections in Punjab and Sindh, said Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Thursday.

According to the statement Pakistan army personnel will remain present in all districts during the process of voting and counting to handle any irregular activity.

Electioneering for the first phase of local bodies elections in Punjab and Sindh will end on Thursday night.

The election will be held on October 31.

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has said that action would be taken against parties and candidates holding meetings after the stipulated time.
