ISLAMABAD – The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa called on Prime Minister Imran Khan at PM House Office on Wednesday.
Media reports said PM Imran and General Bajwa discussed prevailing security situation of the country in wake of protests after the Supreme Court’s verdict in Asia Bibi case.

“PM Imran Khan and Army Chief Gen Bajwa discussed important matters and overall situation of the country. The entire nation is united for Pakistan’s peace, stability and security,” Chaudhry Fawad said in a Twitter post.
The premier had earlier made it clear that the state will take action against the violators to fulfill its duty of protecting the people. “The state will fulfill its responsibility of protecting the lives and properties of people and take strict action against violators.” the premier said while addressing the nation on TV and radio on Wednesday.

Federal, provincial govts summon session on law and order
Meanwhile, the federal government directed provincial governments to summon session related to law and order. A session will be held under Chief Commissioner Islamabad, reports said, adding that Islamabad deputy CC, DIGs, SSPs, SP have also been called to attend it.
In the meeting, opening routes in the twin cities will be discussed and also removing protestors peacefully from the areas, it was added.
Media reports said an operation strategy will also be considered in case of protestors not dispersing peacefully.
