Designated banks across Pakistan to remain open on March 2, 3 to receive Hajj applications

LAHORE – Designated banks across Pakistan will remain open on Saturday and Sunday to receive Hajj applications under the government scheme.

This decision has been taken to facilitate the intending pilgrims in submitting Hajj applications along with the fees for Hajj 2019.

All designated branches of 14 banks will remain open on Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Intending pilgrims can submit their applications in designated banks across the country, including Azad Kashmir till Wednesday.

Particulars of the applicants, who have submitted their applications, have been uploaded on the website of Ministry of Religious Affairs and relevant information is also being sent through SMS.

So far, 1,00,649 Hajj applications have been received.

In case of any error in particulars, applicants can contact concerned bank for correction.

The process of submitting applications in various branches of 14 designated banks to secure a berth in Government Hajj Scheme started on February 24.

The aspirants having a valid computerised national identity card, and an international machine-readable passport valid up to February 10, 2020, have been asked to submit applications along with 10 photographs.

They should also to deposit hajj dues at their nearest branch of the designated banks including Habib Bank Limited, United Bank Limited, National Bank of Pakistan, Muslim Commercial Bank (MCB) Limited, Allied Bank Limited, Bank of Punjab, Meezan Bank, Bank Al-Falah, Bank Al-Habib, Zarai Taraqiati Bank, Faysal Bank, Habibmetro Bank Limited, Askari Bank, and Dubai Islamic Bank by March 6. The balloting to choose over 100,000 lucky aspirants for performing sacred religious obligation would be conducted on March 8.

The Saudi government has recently enhanced Pakistan hajj quota to 200,000. Ministry’s Policy Formulation Committee is scheduled to meet next week to decide about utilisation or allocation of 16,000 additional quotas.
