SRINAGAR – A 17-year-old boy succumbed to his injuries in a grenade blast at Jammu Bus Stand that took place Thursday morning.
The teenager was identified as Sharik, who hailed from Kalyanpur area of Uttarkhand’s Haridwar.

As many as 27 other people are being treated at a local hospital in the held valley, according to reports in India media.
Purported videos of the incident circulating on social media showed injured people lying on the ground with locals trying to help them.

Local police and Indian troops have cordoned off the site, to investigate the incident.
The blast comes amid heightened tension between India and Pakistan after 40 Indian troops were killed on February 14 in the part of Kashmir that New Delhi occupies, sparking the biggest standoff between the countries in years.
