LAHORE – The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is likely to resume direct flights to the United States after a green signal from America.
US Counsel General Join Wagons had called on the PIA CEO on Wednesday where she requested for directed PIA flights to New York, Chicago and Houston.
The American embassy staff had expressed confidence on the improving security situation of Pakistan and its airports.
It is expected that the US will establish a counter for Border Protection, Custom and Immigration authorities on one of Pakistan’s airports like it has one at Abu Dhabi airport.

The Pakistani passengers had to travel to America via Abu Dhabi as the US had banned Pakistani flights in its airspace.
The facility of American immigrations and customs at a Pakistani airport will help the passengers.
PIA had suspended its flight operations to US in October, 2017 because of its loss. The national flag-carrier had to face loss as its flights used to land in the US via Manchester.
