LAHORE (Staff Report) – Electioneering for by-elections in NA-19 Haripur is in full swing as all contesting parties have stepped up their campaigns for crucial National Assembly seat.

The elections will be held on August,16.

The election to constituency NA-19 fell vacant on June 19, when a three-member bench of the Supreme Court headed by Justice Jawwad S Khawaja had ordered re-polls in the constituency after a tribunal ruled in favour of PML-N candidate Omar Ayub Khan.

The main contest is between Babar Nawaz of Pakistan Muslim League-N and Dr. Aamir Zaman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.

The leadership of both the parties are holding public gatherings, corner meetings and engaged in door to door canvassing to garner support for their candidates.

PML (N) leader Haamid Shah said Haripur has always been the hub of the party and the people will prove it on 16th August, the day of polling for by-election.

He said the people of this area have great love and affection for Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif due to the steps taken by him especially for the development of Hazara division.
