ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Imran Khan Saturday expressed grief over the demise of eminent cricketer Abdul Qadir Khan who was a “genius” and “one of the greatest leg spinners of all time.”
Offering condolences and prayers for the bereaved family, the prime minister said late Abdul Qadir was the life of the dressing room who used to entertain the team with his wit and humour.
In a tweet, the prime minister believed that late Qadir’s bowling statistics did not do justice to his genius.

Earlier, President Dr Arif Alvi expressed his sorrow over the demise of the legendary cricketer.
Praying for peace of the departed soul, the president expressed his sympathies with the bereaved family.
The president said that being the inventor of googly, late Abdul Qadir had brought fame to Pakistan and that his services in the history of cricket would be remembered forever.

The 67-year-old, who died in Lahore on Friday night following a massive heart attack, was born in Lahore in 1955 and represented the country in 67 test matches and took 236 wickets and claimed 132 wickets in 104 one day international matches. He scored 1029 runs in test matches and 641 in one day matches.
