ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Information Minister Pervaiz Rasheed on Tuesday charged Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan with horse-trading, insisting he was to blame for promoting this practice.
The minister held the view that Khan was turning politics into a business venture, and called his accusation against the Pakistan People’s Party and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl for involvement in horse-trading as baseless.
He opined that those parties winning more seats in the Senate elections will stand themselves exposed. According to him, every party should get seats in the Senate polls according to their numerical strength in the provincial assemblies. Pervaiz also blamed the PTI for awarding tickets to people with ‘questionable’ background.
He asked Khan to disclose the name of the person who offered him Rs150 million for award of Senate ticket. “I will myself disclose the name otherwise.”
Earlier, the PTI chief had blamed the PPP and JUI-F for their “deep involvement” in the practice of horse-trading after they refused to support the proposed 22nd constitutional amendment that would ask the voters to disclose their choice(s).
The Senate elections are due on March 5 and the debate on alleged horse-trading is also in full bloom.
