LAHORE (Staff Report) – While an election tribunal continues hearing a complaint of PTI’s Abdul Aleem Khan against election of Ayaz Sadiq in NA-122 Lahore by-polls, two independent contestants have also been allowed to become parties to the case.
Khurram Qureshi and Manzoor Laeequr Rehman had approached the tribunal judge Mr Rasheed Qamar, challenging the result of by-poll held on October 11.
In their plea both complainants said that October 11 by -poll was not fair and an engineered result was announced by Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
On the occasion the tribunal dismissed applications of two other candidates named Jamshed Iqbal Hameed and Mian Yameen Tipu due to non-prosecution of their pleas.
The tribunal will hold next hearing on January 11.
