The Punjab Excise Department has unveiled a new vanity number plates scheme, set to commence next week. This initiative will allow residents to personalize their vehicle registration plates with custom names and numbers.
According to Director Excise Mohammad Asif, the scheme will offer three distinct categories of vanity number plates:
Gold Plates: Priced at 500,000 PKR
Platinum Plates: Priced at 50,000 PKR
Corporate Plates: Priced at 1,000,000 PKR
These plates will be owned permanently by the purchaser.
To address concerns about counterfeit plates, the department has implemented a comprehensive strategy, which includes maintaining a detailed database of all vanity plate holders.
In addition, Mufti Qavi has been appointed as the ambassador for the vanity number plates scheme. This role will involve promoting the initiative and enhancing public awareness.
The scheme is expected to add a new dimension to vehicle personalization and regulatory control in Punjab.
