Two New Cases Filed Against Imran Khan Over September 28 Protests

Two fresh cases have been registered against PTI founder and former Prime Minister, Imran Khan, in connection with the protests held on September 28, escalating legal actions against him.

The cases, filed under Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA), also name Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Amin Gandapur, as a co-accused. The charges claim that Khan incited party workers against national institutions, calling for protests from Adiala Jail.

The complaints were registered at New Town and Civil Lines police stations, including sections related to attempted murder, terrorism, and violation of Section 144, which prohibits public gatherings.

Additionally, charges of criticism against Punjab government institutions, vandalism, arson, and stone pelting have been included in the cases, further intensifying the legal scrutiny on Khan and his political allies.
