Renowned Islamic scholar Dr. Zakir Naik has expressed deep admiration for the overwhelming love and warmth he received in Pakistan, stating that it far surpasses the affection he experienced in India.
During his visit to Pakistan, Dr. Naik met with prominent religious scholar Maulana Tariq Jameel at his residence in Lahore. Maulana Jameel warmly welcomed Dr. Naik, praising him for his dedication and calling him a rare and blessed individual. “I have never seen someone with the same qualities as Dr. Zakir Naik. He left his profession as a doctor for the sake of Allah, and now, through social media, his message has spread across the globe,” Maulana Jameel remarked. He further prayed for Dr. Naik’s son to follow in his footsteps, emphasizing the need for more individuals like him in the Muslim world.
Dr. Zakir Naik expressed his long-standing desire to meet Maulana Tariq Jameel, stating that while they had previously met in Makkah, meeting in one’s homeland carries a unique joy. “I have seen the passion of Pakistanis abroad, but witnessing it firsthand in Pakistan brought me immense happiness,” Dr. Naik shared. He highlighted the tremendous potential of the Pakistani people and noted that Pakistan, being the only country founded in the name of Islam, has always been a beacon of hope for Muslims worldwide.
Reflecting on his experiences, Dr. Naik discussed his efforts in fostering unity among different Muslim sects. “When we held conferences for Peace TV, we would debate with followers of other religions, but when it came to Muslim gatherings, we invited people from different sects. Despite tensions often visible on social media, I found that when I started delivering speeches in Urdu, critics eventually became friends after weeks or months.”
Addressing the current challenges faced by the Muslim Ummah, Dr. Naik urged Muslims to unite under the banner of Islam. “Despite being over two billion strong, with 57 Islamic countries, we are under attack. Look at Gaza—our enemies are attacking us, and we remain silent. If a few key Islamic nations unite, no one would dare challenge us,” he stressed. Dr. Naik also underscored Pakistan’s unique position as the only Muslim nuclear power, stating that the country has the potential to lead the Muslim world.
Dr. Naik concluded by expressing his profound joy at being in Pakistan and acknowledging the unmatched love he received from the Pakistani people, far exceeding the affection he experienced in his homeland, India.
