MULTAN – On the second day of the Multan Test, Pakistan found themselves in trouble during their second innings, losing four key wickets for just 76 runs while chasing a target of 254 set by the West Indies.

The West Indies began their second innings with a lead of 9 runs. Skipper Brathwaite and McKail Lewis laid a foundation with a 50-run partnership before Lewis departed for 7. Aamir Jangoo then partnered with Brathwaite to take the score to 92. Brathwaite’s innings of 52 was ended by Nauman Ali, after which the West Indies continued to add runs while losing wickets steadily.

Alick Athanaze contributed 35 runs, and Kevin Sinclair added 28 as the West Indies were bowled out for 244, giving Pakistan a target of 254 runs.

In reply, Pakistan’s batting lineup faltered. Skipper Shan Masood and Mohammad Harira were dismissed for just 2 runs each, while Kamran Ghulam and Babar Azam managed 19 and 31 runs, respectively. Saud Shakeel (13*) and nightwatchman Kashif Ali (1*) remained unbeaten as Pakistan ended the day at 76/4, needing another 178 runs to win with six wickets in hand.

Earlier in the match, the West Indies were bowled out for 163 in their first innings, while Pakistan managed just 154 in reply. Notably, Pakistan won the first Test of the two-match series.
