Sialkot Lynching: Seven convicts to be executed on Friday

SIALKOT (Staff Report) – As many as seven convicted culprits of Sialkot lynching incident, in which two brothers were tortured to death, are set to be executed on Friday (April 8).

According to information available with Daily Pakistan Global, the death warrants of seven convicts named Rashid Mehr, Ali Raza, Shafiq, Sarfraz, Jameel Jeela, Iqbal and Ameen have been issued by Judge of Sialkot’s special courts.

While dismissing the culprits pleas against the punishments, Justice Imtiaz Ahmed termed the lynching of two brothers a shameful act of society.

The jail superintendent has been advised to execute the all seven people on Friday according to the jail rules.

In August 2010, the two brothers, named Mughees and Muneeb, were killed by a mob -which alleged them of robbery-  in daylight in Buttran Wali area of Sialkot.

Their dead bodies were, later on, dragged on roads and hanged against a water tank in the area. Police officials present on the site had also not precluded the lynching.
