Mian sahib you will not go home, you will go to jail if corruption proven, Imran warns PM Nawaz

LAHORE (Staff Report) – PakistanTehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan has warned Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif that he will go to jail instead of leaving his office and go home, if proven guilty in the Panama Papers probe.

While addressing a political gathering on Lahore’s Mall Road on Sunday, Khan said he started his war against corruption 20 years ago, adding that people are unaware that what is corruption and how it is being done in the country. He also shared his experiences of dealing with corruption during the early years of Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital (SKMCH).

Once again, PTI chief asked PM Nawaz to resign as he has no moral authority to remain in power after his involvement in money laundering, tax evasion and corruption being surfaced.

PTI chief said that Rs 11 billion were spent in the construction of the Raiwind estate, adding that the six camp offices of the Chief Minister (CM) Punjab Shehbaz Sharif are being operated on the taxes payed by the people. He said that at least 2700 policemen are deployed in Jati-Umra for the security of the Sharif family.

British parliament scrutinised UK Prime Minister David Cameron after his name was appeared in the Panama Papers, Imran said and added that American presidents Richard Nixon and Bill Clinton had to resign as they were found involved in immoral activities.

Imran also spoke for the rights of labourers and urged the need for provision of better living and health facilities for them.

PTI chief thanked the people of Lahore for braving the heat and still showing up at the gathering on his call and with a cause.

Imran also directed the party workers to get ready for the Raiwind March, which Imran said would be announced anytime soon. He also announced to hold a rally in Faisalabad next Sunday.
