BATTAGRAM – A top commander of the banned militant group Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has been killed in an armed clash with law enforcement agencies in Battagram, during which an accomplice of his was also injured and arrested, police officials said on Sunday.
According to the statement, the commander killed in the encounter was identified as Hafiz Nisa, head of the Shangla chapter of the TTP and wanted for a number of attacks on security forces.
Earlier, the police had announced a bounty of Rs. 1 million for the TTP militant.
An accomplice of the militant commander was injured and arrested in the encounter. Weapons and explosive material were also recovered from Hafiz Nisa’s vehicle, which was altogether destroyed in the armed encounter.
