Pakistani shoemaker designs special Peshawari Chappal for Shah Rukh Khan

PESHAWAR – A shoemaker from Pakistani city of Peshawar has designed a traditional Peshawari Chappal for Bollywood King Shah Rukh Khan.

“The chappal (footwear) has been made from deer’s skin,” said Jahangir Khan, a local shoemaker.

Khan’s sister, who is residing in Peshawar, will hand over the gift to her brother in India very soon, Jahangir told Dunya TV.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and PTI chief Imran Kahn also wore a similar style of famous Peshawari Chappal.

The trend started when Peshawar’s famous shoemaker Chacha Nooruddin made the ‘Kaptaan Special Chappal’ for PTI chairman Imran Khan during Islamabad sit-in in 2014.

The trend of wearing traditional Peshawari chappal is gaining popularity for celebrating joyful occasions like Eid and festivals.
