India taking conflicting issues to dangerous level: Pakistan

ISLAMABAD – Foreign Office Spokesman Nafees Zakaria has said that India was not sincere in stabilising relations with Pakistan and was taking things to a very dangerous level.

In an interview with Radio Pakistan, he said Pakistan is ready to resolve all issues with India through process of dialogue.

Nafees termed resolution of Kashmir dispute as a prerequisite for peace and security in the region.

In response to a question, he said that Islamabad and Beijing are vigorously pursuing the China Pakistan Economic Corridor project and about 24 early-harvest projects will be completed by 2018.

The FO spokesperson was expressing his views in the light of frayed relations between India and Pakistan after a series of skirmishes across Line of Control.

Tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbours frayed in the aftermath of Uri attack on a checkpost in Kashmir that left 18 people dead.

India pointed fingers at Pakistan for the attack, but Pakistan refuted the allegations. What added fuel to the fire was Indian aggression on Line of Control and claims of conducting a surgical strike inside Pakistan.
