2013 polls rigging: PTI urges judicial commission to reopen 7 constituencies

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan has urged the judicial commission to initially reopen seven constituencies to investigate rigging allegations in the 2013 elections, media reports said.

Interacting with a group of reporters after attending Monday’s hearing of the three-member judicial panel, headed by Chief Justice Nasirul Mulk, Khan said that “The evidence of rigging was in bags. Aitzaz Ahsan is right in demanding that seven seats be reopened.”

The PTI chief said he had urged the commission to also investigate role of provincial election commission heads.

“Twenty-one political parties have said it with one voice that there was a scientific and deliberate rigging. Even Nawaz Sharif himself pointed to rigging in Haripur.”

Khan also questioned the orders for printing of one crore ballot papers. “Why were one crore extra ballot papers printed? Who got them done and who took the decisions? It must also be investigated,” he said.
