Former cricketer Sarfraz Nawaz accuses PSL chief Najam Sethi of corruption

LAHORE – Former cricketer Sarfraz Nawaz accused Pakistan Super League (PSL) chief and chairman of Executive Committee of Pakistan Cricket Board Najama Sethi of involving the cricket players in corruption.

The statement of Nawaz follows news reporting that two players of Islamabad United Sharjeel Khan and Khalid Latif have been suspended from PSL 2017 on the charges of spot-fixing.

The former cricketer further revealed that Sethi received Rs 400 million as kickbacks after Pakistan lost World Cup match against its rival, India, adding that Sethi purchased a flat worth Rs 100 million in the U.S from this money. “The players will remain involved in corruption until Sethi is here”.

Convicted people were being made part of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), he said, adding that Moin Khan was hired despite his casino scandal, he said.

Mustaq Ahmad, Moin Khan, Inzmam ul Haq and Azhar Mehmood were among those players who could not win match from Bangladesh in 1999.

He added that Ravi Bopara had hinted at corruption in Karachi Kings during last year.
