Dr Ishratul Ebad declines Zardari s offer to join PPP

DUBAI – Former Sindh governor Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan said on Thursday that co-chairperson of Pakistan People s Party (PPP) Asif Zardari had asked him to join his party, and that he he had declined.

In an exclusive conversation with Dunya News, he further said that Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) was notorious for having terrorists, extortionists, target killers and land grabbers in its ranks but all those terrorists were now part of Pak Sarzameen Party.

When asked about his opinion regarding the next general elections Dr Ishratul Ebad said that the candidates backed by MQM-London faction would win the majority of seats in the metropolis.

Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan served as governor of Karachi for 17 long years before being replaced by Justice Saeed uz Zaman Siddiqui last year. He has been the longest-serving governor in Sindh.

After leaving office Ebad went to Dubai where his meetings with former president Asif Ali Zardari gave a clue that he might join Pakistan Peoples Party.
