BHAKKAR – At least eight people were killed and 22 others were left injured in two separate road accidents, early Tuesday.
According to reports, a tragic collision took place between a car and passenger van in Bhakkar that left five people dead and injured 19 others. The two vehicles collided on Jung Road, after the car’s faulty tie rod ceased to function.
As many as 11 of the 19 injured in the incident were reported to be critical and referred to District Headquarter Hospital (DHQ) Bhakkar after they received initial treatment at THQ Mankera Hospital.
Six injured persons were transferred to Allied Hospital Faisalabad.
In another accident, at least three people, of the same family, died and three others wounded in a road crash on Pindi Bhattian-Faisalabad Motorway.
The incident took place near Jhang Branch canal on M3 Motorway, when a speeding bus collided with a car, officials said.
Consequently, three of a family, including a woman, were killed who were identified as Bilal, Mukhtat and Farhat.
The three wounded of the crash were shifted to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Pindi Bhattian where they were said to be in precarious condition.
