MANDI BAHAUDDIN – A local body representative of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) was gunned down by unidentified assailants in Mandi Bahauddin city of Punjab on Thursday.
According to police, unidentified attackers opened fire on the vehicle of local representative of UC-48, Jamshed Ali Tarar near Jako village, Mandi Bahauddin. The incident left Tarar, chairman of Kala Shadian union council, severely injured.
He was shifted to a hospital but he succumbed to gunshot wounds.
Three of Tarar’s bodyguards were also wounded in the shooting, and were rushed to a nearby hospital. Police said Tarar was en route to Jako village from Qadirabad.
Investigations into the brutal murder have been launched whereas local political workers expressed sorrow over the demise of their colleague.
