PTI makes huge blunder in reference seeking NAB chairman removal

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf made a huge blunder in the reference seeking removal of National Accountability Bureau chairman, it emerged on Tuesday.

Although PTI remained steadfast in its demand seeking the removal of graft buster chairman Qamar Zaman after the Panama verdict and it practically filed a reference on Monday in the Supreme Court but a mistake in the reference would probably delay the proceedings.

According to Dunya News, instead of mentioning Qamar Zaman Chaudhry as NAB chairman, the legal team of PTI changed his designation and instead wrote ‘Qamar Zaman Chaudhry, judge of Islamabad High Court’ and sought his removal.

The reference bears the signature of PTI’s spokesperson Fawad Chaudhry who remained a part of the party’s legal team for the landmark Panama case.

It bears mentioning that the apex court in its historic judgment last Thursday ordered the formation of a Joint Investigations Team to probe money trail of ruling Sharif family.

Apart from that, it also observed that the chairman of NAB did not perform his duties after the Panama Leaks jolted the whole nation.

Soon after that, PTI announced filing a reference against Qamar Zaman seeking his ouster from the post but it appears that it jumped the gun resulting in a mistaken reference.
