ISLAMABAD -The report of probe committee over Dawn Leaks would be presented to the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif today (Wednesday), spokesperson for the ministry of interior clarified in a statement.
According to the statement, the Dawn Leaks probe report was presented to Chaudhry Nisar on Tuesday at 06:45 pm. It would be forwarded to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday after the ministry reviews the report.
“The recommendations of the committee would be made public after the premier approves in the matter,” the statement read as quoted by Dunya News.

It was reported earlier Tuesday that the probe committee had filed the report to authorities concerned after which Nisar called on the premier and discussed the recommendations of the committee members.
Media reported that, following the meeting, the Prime Minister approved the sacking of Tariq Fatemi, Special Assistant to PM on Foreign Affairs as recommended by the probe committee. However, Tariq Fatemi refused to tender resignation.
Sources had reported that the government was also recommended by the committee to sack Principal Information Officer, Rao Tehseen, a senior civil servant who is serving at the position since February 2014.
The inquiry commission report, prepared by Justice (r) Aamir Raza, held Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Tariq Fatemi, former Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid and Principal Information Officer Rao Tehseen responsible for stirring the controversy, the Geo News reported.
Pakistan’s English-language daily, Dawn, had published a story in October last year in which journalist Cyril Almeida had written about an alleged civil-military rift during the National Security Committee (NSC) meeting over the issue of tackling militant outfits.
The story stirred a major controversy last year, resulting in Almeida coming under fire from the military and government and being temporarily placed on the Exit Control List.
The Dawn story quoting official sources said that civilian government and military were not on the same page regarding actions against some specific militant groups and there was heated exchange of words between Punjab CM Shehbaz and ISI chief during a national security meeting.
Pakistan army had dismissed the story as “unfounded and planted” and called for a probe into the leak.
