Islamic State’s pamphlets recovered from Karachi attack site

KARACHI (Staff Report) – The law enforcement agencies on Wednesday recovered two pamphlets from the crime scene in Karachi where unidentified assailants killed 45 people earlier today.

The pamphlets are in Urdu and English that carry the same text addressed to the armed forces of Pakistan. They stated that the attack was carried out against the “Rawafidh” –which means deviant in English- in a reaction to the ongoing operations in Iraq, Yemen and Syria.

The attack is retaliation to the operation silence of armed forces, which took place in 2007 at Islamabad’s Red mosque, and the fake encounters of those associated to the Islamic State, the text read.

They have also vowed to carry out more such attacks in the country.

It is, however, interesting to note here that Pamphlets also site examples of ‘fake encounters by officers like Rao Anwar’. The said police officer came under media spotlight and caused a storm in the ranks of MQM, one of Karachi’s main political parties, a few days ago, by alleging that party’s militant workers operate in close coordination with Indian spy agency ‘RAW’.

Earlier proscribed Jundullah, a splinter group of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, had also claimed responsibility of the attack.Pamphlet
