Resignation demanded from Sindh CM Qaim Ali Shah

KARACHI (Staff Report) – Soon after the unidentified terrorists killed 45 people and injured 11 others in an attack on bus carrying Ismailis on Wednesday, political leaders have laid the demand that PPP’s Qaim Ali Shah should step down as Sindh Chief Minister.

MQM Chief Altaf Hussain, while talking to a private news channel, said the attackers dropped the pamphlets of Islamic State at the site but the Sindh government was still in the state of denial that Daesh militants carried out the attack. “Isn’t this attack an eye-opener?” he asked.

Altaf went on to say that he has been warning the government and law enforcement agencies for long about the presence of IS and Taliban terrorists in Karachi but “nobody took the matter seriously”. He claimed that no security personnel was present at the check post nearby the attack site.

When asked about the imposition of Governor Rule in Sindh province, the MQM chief said it was not the solution rather suggesting that honest police officers should be appointed in the city.
