PESHAWAR (Web Desk) – According to initial results Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is leading with 370 seats at most District and Tehsil council seats in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) province after a day long polling was conducted throughout the province for local bodies polls.
Awami National Party (ANP) has secured 111 seats while Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazal (JUI-F) bagged 186 seats.
Jammat-e-Islami has managed to 150 seats whereas Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) got 104 seats.
Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has secured 60 seats while Independent and other parties lifted 222 seats so far in unofficial results.
Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) will formally announce the results of local bodies elections on June 7.
Eighty-four thousand four hundred and twenty candidates took part in the elections to elect forty-one thousand seven hundred and sixty-two local government representatives.
Extraordinary security measures were taken to ensure peaceful atmosphere on the polling stations.
However, there are reports of minor clashes among workers of different political parties in different parts of the province.
Polling remained suspended at several polling station in Mardan, Charsadda, Nowshera, Hangu, Kohat, Karak,Lakki Marwat, Dera Ismail Khan, Tank and Kulachi.
In Charsadda, fifteen people have been arrested for creating law and order situation at Umarzai polling station.
Meanwhile, fifteen candidates have boycotted the election in Bannu alleging irregularities in polling.
